Residents in Stapleford, Bramcote and Toton, along the stretch of the A52 between Bramcote island and Bardills roundabout, have been blighted by car meets and racing for years.
I have been raising this with Nottinghamshire Police, Broxtowe Borough Council and National Highways, but despite a dedicated police operation, residents are yet to see an improvement.
Not only is this behaviour extremely dangerous, the noise is keeping residents up all night, and means they can’t open their windows even during the very hot weather we’ve had this summer.
Even when residents contact the police, they will often arrive too late to catch the culprits, and the racers have moved on.
That’s why I am calling on National Highways to install a speed camera on the A52 between Bramcote island and Bardills roundabout.
