Juliet Campbell MP met with the Canal and River Trust at Beeston Canal to discuss several important local issues including flooding resilience, the Moorgreen Reservoir and the closure of facilities by Beeston Canal.
We spoke about the Trust’s work on flood prevention, which remains a major concern for many residents across Broxtowe. We talked about the Trust’s involvement in the Environment Agency’s proposed Erewash Valley project, a flood resilience programme to address flooding to homes and businesses along the Erewash. We also discussed the Trust’s responsibilities in managing the Moorgreen Reservoir.
I also raised residents’ concerns about the closure of the toilet and washroom facilities at Beeston Lock and the impact this is having on boaters and residents.
